This infographic simplifies the process of embedding a culture of innovation and illustrates how practical the process can be. However, a novice innovation driver should realise that the process is a layered complex one and that there are few hard and fast rules. If the process was rule / process driven – it wouldn’t be innovation, it would be simply be ‘operation’.
Innovation is about releasing the undefined, unrefined magic that exists within the organisation as a result of it’s people and practices. When you’re convinced that innovation is about adhering to rules you’re too process driven. The infographic provides a framework and should not be interpreted as an ultimate set of rules, that when you follow these steps you are being ‘innovative.’
When working with a team, I like to ask, “what rules would you like to break?’ (At the office, in the sector…etc)
Great graphic.
